Opens with the Prospectus dated July 1874 for Epochs of History a series of books (2 pages) + Half Title page + printers info + Title page + blank + info slip + 2 page Introduction + 2 Contents pages + 31 colour maps on 29 single sided pages + 13 page index . Condition Blue Cloth binding fair/poor, Gilt title to front, embossed front/rear, some light staining & rubbed edges, minor splitting top/base of spine. Contents loose (not detached), but holding, a few corner tip folds, lacks blank end pages, maps good, one with edge ink mark, some with minor edge dirt, mostly to edges, and no tears, no inscriptions . Complicated colour maps, 2 double page maps, starts with double page of the world (4 maps listed as one, in fact also a number of maps contain little maps within the main map). The title page is clearly printed 1874 & seventh edition. Yet some dealers mistakenly state they have a 1889 or 1901 . Please also note all other copies listed have faults, that is normal for large format school map books. So this a rare early 1874 copy, although a seventh edition.
