About this Item
Green printed map image 95x58mm with exhibition details to the front of a commemorative envelope 152x90mm. Pakistan's Department of Post and Telegraph became operational on 14 August 1947, joined the Universal Postal Union on 10 November, and issued its first postage stamps on 9 July 1948. This world map, centred on Pakistan, shows the dense network of air mail connections it had developed stretching across the Islamic world from West Africa to Southeast Asia. Very good, postally unused, with some rubbing through to the front from the envelope's folds, yellowing slightly. Seller Inventory # 5048
