This is a finely engraved map done in the plate by W. & A. K. Johnston in Edinburg in 1842. The planisher contains two inset charts: Delineation of the course of the Hourly Medium Temperatures of the Year in the Temperate Zones; Curves of Hourly Mean Temperatures. Von Humboldt's explanation is laid out through the various temperate zones of the world. Overall a very nice important early map expressing Humboldt's findings. Seller Inventory # 773
