Undated, but most likely published circa 1870, this is a very scarce map titled Cruchley's Environs of Oswestry, a linen backed folding dissected map with colourful original hand colouring, opened the map measures 69cm by 53cm approx., folding down to its cloth covers measuring 18.5cm by 10cm approx., the Map centres on the Shropshire town in Oswestry, extending to Shrewsbury, Whitchurch and Tarporley in Cheshire on the right hand side, on the far left it extends to Dinas Mawddwy, Bala, and Pentrefoelas. Also taking in Llangollen, Ruthin, Mold, Ellesmere, Llanymynech, Welshpool, Corwen, Holt, Wrexham, Malpas, etc, cloth covers a little faded, else in nice general condition A GOOD EXAMPLE OF THIS VERY SCARCE MAP.
