Copper engraving on verge type hand laid paper with watermark. Description: Map of Utrecht in 1776. Surveying by J.W. Raven a.o. with help of students from the technical school for orphans in the Fundatie van Renswoude (Foundation of Renswoude). Published by J. van Schoonhoven en Comp., Utrecht, 1778. Scale 1 : 2800.Artists and Engravers: Johannes van Schoonhoven was a bookseller in Utrecht. Condition: Excellent; general age related toning; some light staining from handling. Original folds. This map has most probably been cut in pieces and attached to linnen for field use from a slightly larger full paper version with legends left and right of this map.
