Item description from seller

John E. Allen & Co;  Boston;  1916  ;  Very Good Single sheet, 22.5 x 18", printed on both sides and folded to 12ths for mailing.  There are a couple of 1/2" edge tears a the folds.  There is also an envelope adhesion to the front, affecting some words in the subtitle. The recto, printed in red, is Mr. Allen's analysis of the present state of the copper market and its future prospects.  As a stockbroker, he is targeting investors in the Boston area by appealing to their pride of place. The verso is in black and touts the Nixon-Nevada copper mining operation in Washoe County.  Mr Allen opines that. "I believe the copper capitalists and captains, who have passed over western Nevada, with its high-grade ore deposits, precisely in the same manner as the gold-seekers passed over copper in any form in the old days -- along their trails to treasureland -- will now have to turn back their attention to that section as a very citadel of copper mining and smelting." The President of the Nixon-Nevada Co. reports that its ".estate is 635 acres of highly mineralized ground . located about fourteen miles northwest of Reno, Nevada, on the west slope of Granite Mountain, An Eastern spur of the Sierra Nevada range." This is approximately three miles from the California state line. There is a map of the locations of the company's claims and another cross section diagram of their subterranean operations. The Nixon-Nevada company certainly issued stock certificates, but beyond that the internet is as dark as the bottom of an unlit mine.
