20 larger format newspaper style issues of this American landmark publication all dated 1867 with fiction, original poetry, "Home Intelligence" series, short stories and articles, deaths, accidents, events of the time. Each with a separate printed ornate woodcut designed head-piece. only signs of any notice of having been bound are the stitch or stab holes in the edges, some of these are a bit fragile and are splitting along the centre fold line, or outer page browned and some separation of the covers at the spine, but all holding, others have printers creases or natural faults, several are clearly very good, most are good and a few only fair with closed tears and covers loose, but all complete. Authors noted inc Harriet Beecher Stowe on "Plantation Life" her brother also, Henry Ward Beecher, also serials by James Payn and others with lost of poetry that are original contributions, election news reports, agriculture and other wild-life reports, the money markets, and classified adverts. Each 8 pages. RARE EARLY EDITIONS of this famous weekly all large broadsheet style. Dates are; Aug 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st, Sept 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, Oct 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, Nov 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, Dec 7th, 14th, 21st. (Complete small run consecutive issues). Also maps and Ephemera - in fact, anything interesting on paper really. We have in stock every item we list. We do not use stock photographs, but photograph each item individually. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
