Synopsis

El odio antijudío y las matanzas de judíos --pogromos-- como lo que Hamas desató el 7 de octubre de 2023 no son algo nuevo. Tienen siglos de historia. Lo que sí es nuevo es que los pogromos ya son parte de las permanentes convulsiones y guerras de la época imperialista. La rivalidad capitalista para repartirse el mundo; dos guerras mundiales; el exterminio de 6 millones de judíos. Todo esto deja claro que combatir el odio antijudío es decisivo para la clase trabajadora y las naciones oprimidas de todo el mundo. Cuando los gobernantes británicos y norteamericanos cerraron la puerta a los sobrevivientes del Holocausto en los años 40, el nacimiento de Israel como refugio para los judíos resultó necesario e inevitable. Sin embargo, es un estado capitalista en un mundo imperialista, y no ofrece amparo perdurable a los judíos. Bajo el dominio del capital, no existe dicho amparo. Pero sí existe un camino para avanzar, según lo demostró la Revolución Rusa de octubre de 1917. Un partido obrero revolucionario forjado en la lucha por V.I. Lenin --los bolcheviques-- dirigió al pueblo trabajador a tomar el poder estatal y trazar un rumbo para acabar con la explotación y la opresión nacional. Los trabajadores en el antiguo imperio zarista empezaron a forjar un nuevo mundo, hallando formas de resolver conflictos entre sí que parecían insuperables. Mostraron el camino para los trabajadores hoy día: forjar partidos proletarios capaces de dirigir a millones a luchar por el poder obrero, poner fin a la explotación por parte del capital, acabar con toda opresión nacional y crear un mundo socialista.

About the Author

Dave Prince (1943- ) has been a member of the National Committee of the Socialist Workers Party since 1977. Among his responsibilities over the years he helped lead party trade union fractions in several industries. In the 1990s and early 2000s he headed the party's print shop in New York, which produced the Militant newsweekly and books published by Pathfinder. He helped lead the transition to digital printing, which opened the door to organizing volunteer supporters in the US and elsewhere to take on much of the work previously done in the shop to prepare books and party material to be printed. Today, among other responsibilities, Prince leads the work with the party's worldwide network of organized supporters. He is the author of the introduction to The Jewish Question: A Marxist Interpretation (2020).
