Add to basketPaperback. Not about how to achieve power or how to hold on to it, although that too. But rather why we should destroy it and change it fucking once and for all. Juan Tallon The book I needed to read this year. A nightmarish journey to the core of a system we no longer belong to, but just work for. A read that gives us the right words to name that which makes us sick and arouses the kind of anger we need to tear it down at last. Aixa de la Cruz A clairvoyant and incredibly intelligent tale, a vivisection of what it means to be a woman and a man today, both separate and simultaneously. Agustin Fernandez Mallo At forty-four, the female protagonist of this novel has become an authentic business man: she earns two hundred thousand euros a year, has modeled her body, her time, her language, and even her sexual relations to achieve as much power as a man does, to be accepted in their circles, to earn their full trust, and finally become one of them. At the peak of her professional career, when shes already been living, thinking, and earning exactly the same as her male colleagues for years, she takes a look back to her metamorphosis since the first time she thought she had been born part of the wrong team, up to the moment she understood that her professional success was also result of a monstruous personal transformation. The Last White Man can be read as the chronicle of an infiltrate at the seams of the labor market, or as the testimony of a powerful and opaque man who takes the floor for the first time, willing to tell the truth. Nuria Labaris incisive and lucid prose helps tell the story of a woman who thought she needed to climb a mountain, and how, when she finally reached the summit, wanted to blow it up.
