Diógenes Laercio contaba en su Vida de los filósofos ilustres que Zenón de Elea se arrancó la lengua de un mordisco, y se la escupió a la cara al tirano de la ciudad cuando este le exigió colaboración. Esa lengua rota es el símbolo desde el que Raúl Quinto diseña un mecanismo textual acerca del poder de la palabra y del precio a pagar por el decir contra el poder, con imágenes fulgurantes y a través de la puesta en valor de una memoria contrahegemónica: desde diversos activistas asesinados a oscuros episodios de la historia de España como la masacre de la carretera de Málaga o la estafa de la talidomida. La lengua rota habla sobre la necesidad de rescatar las palabras de la boca de los monstruos: una poética no ya del silencio, sino del silenciamiento y de la rebelión, y un análisis poéticamente preciso sobre la estructura de un mundo donde son otros los que tienen el poder de nombrar y decidir qué se puede o no decir.
Raúl Quinto nació en Cartagena en 1978. Es licenciado en Historia del Arte por la Universidad de Granada y actualmente reside en Almería, donde ejerce como profesor. Fue uno de los coordinadores de la Facultad de Poesía José Ángel Valente y ha colaborado como crítico en publicaciones como Quimera. Es autor de los libros de poemas Grietas (Dauro, 2002; reeditado con Poemas del Cabo de Gata, La Garúa, 2007), La piel del vigilante (DVD, 2005), La flor de la tortura (Renacimiento, 2008), Ruido blanco (La Bella Varsovia, 2012), La lengua rota (La Bella Varsovia, 2019) y Sola (La Bella Varsovia, 2020), todos ellos recogidos en la antología Un idioma siempre al borde de la extinción (2026). También ha publicado los libros de prosa híbrida Idioteca (El Gaviero, 2010), Yosotros (Caballo de Troya, 2015), Hijo (La Bella Varsovia, 2017) y La canción de NOF4 (Jekyll&Jill, 2021). En 2023 publicó Martinete del rey sombra (Jekyll&Jill), con el que ganó el Premio Nacional de Narrativa 2024, el Premio de la Crítica 2023 y el Premio Cálamo Otra Mirada 2023. Su último libro es La ballena azul (Jekyll&Jill, 2025).

To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to Juanpebooks, Miami, Florida, U.S.A., without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
