Leichte Kratzer / Abnutzungen / Druckstellen.

"Sorry for my lack of content, but I'm only half a hero." This is how Horst Wenderoth describes his world of thought and feeling, turned upside down by a diagnosis: vascular dementia. It is a phrase that shakes the son Andreas "in his clear-sighted poetry." All his life, Horst Wenderoth was a man of the word. For three years, however, the words turned away from him and against him, no longer say what he thinks.
Half a hero is the touching, sometimes but also absurdly comical declaration of love of a son to his father, who always defined himself via the mind, and provides a unique insight into the experience of a dementia sufferer. In an empathetic way, the creative sides of the disease are also described, which clearly stand out from the conventional, purely pathological perception.
A father-son story that shows that after the diagnosis of dementia, the last word is not spoken for a long time and with all the farewell pain also remains comfort.
