Item description from seller

Printed by Cantrell Legge, Printer to the University of Cambridge. 264, [10]p. Remains of original binding, lacking the front board and part of the spine. Bound with a possibly unrecorded edition of Perklins' Works, dated 1609. Each work has its own title, and the name of the printer varies, but the pagination is continuous and all are dated 1609. These works are as follow. 1. A clowd of faithfull witnesses, leading to the heavenly Canaan. [4], 206p; 2. A godly and learned exposition or commentarie upon the three first chapters of the Revelation. [12], pp207 - 370 (one leaf torn without loss); 3. The combate between Christ and the Deuill [Devil] displayed: or, A commentarie upon the temptations of Christ. [10], pp371 - 409, [1]. 4. A faithfull and plaine exposition upon the two first verses of the 2. Chapter of Zephaniah. [6], pp411 - 427, [1]. 5. The calling of the Ministerie, two treatises. Describing the duties and dignities of that calling. [6], pp429 - [464]. 6. A fruitful dialogue concerning the ende of the world. [4], pp465 - [478]. 7. A godly and learned exposition upon the whole epistle of Iude [Jude], containing threescore and sixe sermons. [8], pp479 - [606]. 8. A discourse of the damned art of witchcraft; so farre forth as it is reuealed [revealed] in the Scriptures, and manifest by true experience. [10], pp697 - 652. 9. A resolution to the country-man, proouing [proving] it utterly unlawfull to buie [buy] or use our yearely prognostications. [2], pp653 - [668]. 10. Christian oeconomie: or, A short survey of the right manner of erecting and ordering a familie, according to the Scriptures. First written in Latine by the author. and now set forth in the vulgar tongue, for more common use and benefit. [8], 669 - 700. 11. An alphabetical table of chiefe points and questions handled in this volume. [14]p. The last two leaves worn with sl. loss at outside bottom corner. The outer edges of all the text pages show evidence of water damage. The edges are fragile, crumbly, and occasionally torn. This damage does not extend beyond the outer margins of the text, i.e. the text is not affected. There is the usual occasional dustiness, soiling, and staining but otherwise the text pages are mostly clean, fresh, and unmarked. The only exception is the title of the first tract which, as the first page in the volume, has become creased, dust soiled, and has some early notes on it. If it were to be rebound, the outer edges could be trimmed to eliminate much of the wear now obvious. Many inner margins are dusty and marked, again, not affecting the text.
