A 17th century study of how to draw the human figure by French engraver Gerard Audran who served Louis XIV as `engraver to the king`. Considered the most important book published by this author. Front and back cover separated from the rest of the book. Discolouration on the edges of the pages, as usual. Covers chipped and corners bumped. 8 p., 30 engravings, complete, plus one unnumbered engraving enscribed `La statue antique de la jeune Chasseresse est placee en l`apartement des bains du Chateau de Versaille. Avec priviledge du Roy`. Slight foxing and stains to pages. Otherwise contents in good condition. Extremely rare.
