Small Quarto. 36 (4)pp. Original illustrated orange wraps with black lettering and double framing on cover, protected by modern mylar. Publisher's device on half-title. Cover drawing by Ludwig Meidner, reproduced lithographically. The second leaflet of the series "Umsturz und Aufbau (Revolution and Buildup)" published by Ernst Rowohlt in 1919 and 1920, including texts from Georg Büchner and Karl Marx. Dedicated to "Ernst Rowohlt, the first publisher of the common spirit that created these works! In memory of the years 1909â "1919 (Berlin in May)." Contains nine poems by Walter Hasenclever, including "The Political Poet," and two short writings "Tod und Reichstag (Death and Reichstag)" and "Predigt im Dom zu Kà ln (Homily in the Cologne Dome)." Four pages with Hasenclever titles from various publishers and listing of the series "Umsturz and Aufbau" at rear. Text in German, Gothic script. Light wear along edges of wraps, light creasing and light staining near spine of back cover. Block age-toned. Small stamp "Bibliothek Erika, Valery, Konrad Farner" on title page.
