Formatosi in famiglia nello studio delle scienze naturali, Rasetti (1901-2001) conobbe Enrico Fermi all'Università di Pisa. Nel 1924 i 2 si ritrovarono a Firenze, iniziando una collaborazione scientifica con divisione dei ruoli: a Fermi competeva la creatività del fisico teorico, a Rasetti l'inventiva del fisico sperimentale. Rasetti fece parte del "gruppo di via Panisperna" e recatosi nel 1928-1929 al Norman Bridge laboratory del California Institute of technology per studiare l'appena scoperto effetto Raman (la diffusione anelastica di fotoni) proseguì gli esperimenti al rientro a Roma, segnando per il gruppo di Fermi la transizione dalla spettroscopia atomica alla fisica nucleare. La scoperta più rilevante giunse nel 1934, quando il gruppo di via Panisperna svelò l'efficacia dei neutroni lenti nell'induzione della radioattività. Nel 1938 Fermi fuggì negli Stati Uniti e nel 1939 Rasetti divenne direttore del nuovo dipartimento di fisica della Laval University di Québec, in Canada. Nel 1943 Rasetti rifiutò la proposta di collaborare al progetto anglo-canadese per lo sviluppo dell'energia nucleare a fini militari, e decise di non voler continuare a fare ricerca in fisica, per dedicarsi alla geologia, "scienza pacifica e ancora libera dagli interessi politici». If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel with contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
