In-8° broché, exemplaire dérelié, 166 pages Charles COTTU, né à Paris vers 1777, magistrat et écrivain, s'est beaucoup occupé du système pénitentiaire, il fut en 1819, un des fondateurs de la Société d'aménagement pour les prisons. Comme publiciste il s'est montré comme l'un des plus fougueux apôtres de l'absolutisme. (Larousse, XIX°). Cottu [1777?-?] was a counsellor of the Royal Court of Paris and Secretary-General to the Royal Society of Prisons.
