Top margin of title page has former ownership signature of anatomist Thomas Dwight; deaccessioned from a Harvard University library, originally the gift of Dr. John Warren; the pencil sketch on the verso of Diagram III (opposite p. 112) is most likely by Thomas Dwight; binding has soil, wear and chips; spine cloth has a 3/4 inch chip; spine tips are chipped as well; front outer joint has two-inch split at top and 1.25 inch split at bottom, holding overall; back joint has a 3/4 inch split at top; corners bumped and worn; laid in loosely at front is the diagram, "Tracings showing the average growth of English Public School Boys & Military Cadets," which is attached to the Corrigenda leaf; front hinge is cracked, holding; back hinge is starting; frontispiece chart has short closed tear at bottom; text block has several interior hinge cracks; the hinge between p. 96 and Diagram 1 is essentially broken, only attached precariously by two cords at top; Diagram 1 is loose, present. xxiv, 118, [2], 23, [1] p., with in-text illustrations, diagrams, and the aforementioned frontispiece fold-out chart.
