Item description from seller
Fine cloth copy in a near fine dust wrapper with faint wear to the headband. Not price-clipped. Remains well-preserved overall; tight, bright, clean and especially sharp-cornered. Physical description: 192 pages ; 22 cm. Notes: The book is a significant early work in Ripperology, proposing the Russian surgeon Dr. Alexander Pedachenko as the killer and also introducing the artist Walter Sickert as a suspect. The Spectator's 1959 review was critical of McCormick's prose but acknowledged the book's comprehensive research. Includes bibliographical references (pages 187-188) and index. Subjects: McCormick, Donald, 1911-1998. Jack the Ripper Murders, London, England, 1888. Serial murders -- England -- London -- History -- 19th century. Whitechapel (London, England) -- History. Murder -- Investigation -- England -- London -- History -- 19th century. Criminal investigation -- England -- London -- History. Pedachenko, Alexander. Sickert, Walter, 1860-1942.
