About this Item

This is a bound hardback, unpublished Thesis by L. D. Lawrence for "Thesis submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Oxford, St. John's College, Oxford. August 1965." , Title page + 18 + 334 pages. Blue hardback Binding with original black tape spine and edge of boards in good condition with minor rubbing etc. Contents mostly very good clean & tight, folding to title page, a couple of pencil alterations and noticed a few lines white tipped out and over typed. All pages are singe sided tissue paper and would appear to be the authors own copy when from when they typed the original submitted copy. Though hope the submitted copy was in correct order as this copy is miss-bound, it looks OK up to page 56, then jumps to pages 83 to 104, then pages 57 to 82 & then pages 105 to 334. not sure if page 56-7 is correct, though pages 82-83 & 104-105 look OK. To have an idea of content please enlarge scans of a few pages, Please note scans do not show the left of pages as I did not want to flatten/force spine edge down just to get full scans. 20 x 25.5cm Approx.
