Hardback, VG, in FAIR, unclipped dustjacket, grubby and marked, with shelfwear, chips and small patches of loss to head and base of spine. Green cloth, a little bumped to corners, with black lettering to spine. Binding strong. Illustrated endpapers. 220pp. A few foxing spots to edges of the page block. Contents clean and bright. "The author of A Cotswold Year here depicts a pre-war village in Kent, as seen through the eyes of a child. The scattered miles of Fladmere (which you will not find on the map) were his entire world" (from the cover). Frank Samuel Herbert Kendon (12 September 1893 28 December 1959) was an English writer, poet and academic. He was also an illustrator, and journalist. A campaigning pacifist at the beginning of the 2nd World War, he had served in the 1st and termed himself a conscientious objector thereafter.
