Bacon promoted and championed, what is known as the Baconian method, a system of inductive reasoning, which was based on careful observation of natural phenomena. By meticulous and acute observation and carefully recording these observations, conducting experiments, scientists could derive general principles and laws about the natural world. Bacon's method involved systematically collecting data, analyzing it, identifying patterns, and then formulating hypotheses that could be further tested through experimentation.
