FIRST PRINTING. England-resident author's critically acclaimed debut novel. "Powerful, shocking, and utterly compelling, 'The War Zone' is the story of one family who, over the course of a single, fateful summer are undone by their own psychological violence. Their conflicts are sparked by the wholly original, unforgettable Jessie, who wields the power of her blooming teenage sexuality with casual disregard for conventional morality. Told in the voice of Jessie's brother, Tom, who worships her, 'The War Zone' transcends its own perverse eroticism to become a stunning portrait of sin, sexuality, and the consequences-or lack thereof-of breaking the ultimate taboo." 210 pages. Bump to top of DJ spine, elsewise a fine copy! LF.
