First edition in English in the scarce original dust jacket. 8vo. First edition in English preceding the British version by one year of Einstein's 1933 work in German, Mein Weltbild (My Worldview). The book originally was published just after he was unable to return to Germany following Adolf Hitler's rise to power, and is separated into five discrete sections Scientific, Judaism, Germany, Politics and Pacifism, and The World As I See It each comprising a variety of texts written by Einstein, among them articles, public addresses, letters, interviews, and pronouncements. As the dust jacket states, "The World As I See It is, thus, a book which contains the essence of Einstein and as such it is of the utmost importance to all those who unite in considering him one of the foremost personalities of our age" Dark gray ribbed cloth, stamped in silver on spine; very slightly cocked; fore edge lightly foxed; illustrated dust jacket; minor edge wear to head and tail of spine and corners; stains to upper front corners from tape repairs on verso, lacking front free end paper.
