Dustwrapper, landscape small folio, pp.262. Illustrated with very many reproductions of old maps, mostly in colour. A study of the double hemisphere maps produced by British mapmakers from 1680 - 1807, an appraisal of that trade and its practices, economics and techniques.Dustwrapper clean and sound but a little creased to edges in places. Cloth to top edge of covers a bit worn on both sides of spine seams, and a minor damp mark at foot of cover. A few small patches of surface loss to leading margin of front free endpaper, with a small hole in one place. Contents clean and sound throughout save very slight ripple to top edge of text. Overall VG in VG+ dustwrapper. Heavy book, when wrapped appropriately it weighs c1950g thus exceeding the 1000g default for the automatic postage quotation - the extra postage will be requested at time of order or enquiry if to be sent by 1st class UK post or overseas, 2nd class UK no need.
