xv, 294 S. Orig.-Leinenband mit Schutzumschlag. Quine's main work, in which he introduces the notorious indeterminacy of translation thesis. This is the most philosophical of all of Quine's works, and it has greatly affected the development of logic, philosophy of language and mathematics and analytic philosophy in general. It is in this work that Quine propounds his "indeterminacy of translation"-thesis, which became central in the development of philosophy of language. Bei unserem Exemplar handelt es sich wohl um einen (späteren?) Druck der ersten Ausgabe, die für den ostasiatischen Markt bestimmt war: Der Band wurde statt in hellgrünes in rotes Leinen gebunden und trägt auf der letzten Seite einen gedruckten Vermerk in japanischer (?) Sprache. Seiten 93/94 mit eingefalteter und daher unbeschnitten gebliebener Ecke und der Umschlag mit Randläsuren und kleineren Fehlstellen. Trotz der Gebrauchsspuren des Umschlags handelt es sich um ein schönes, gut erhaltenes Exemplar dieses philosophischen Klassikers. Seller Inventory # 009685
