Octavo. Brown cloth covered boards and spine with a black letterbox and shiny gilt lettering on the spine and impression lettering on the front board. Cream colored endpapers. Previous owner's name on the free front endpaper in blue pen. Binding is straight and tight. Theres a darkening across the very tips of the lower outside corner of the textblock where it (we assume) rubbed on the bookshelf and a couple very faint smudges on the outside edge of the textblock, but the pages inside are clean, white, and crisp. What looks like it was once a yellow topstain is now darkened by dust contact. 1,010 pages. Dust Jakcet - Paper jacket is surprisingly intact given the book's age, but still has rubbing at the head and tail of the spine and at the very tips of the four outside corners. The spine area has darkened some - looks more like the result of handling than sun, or possibly the combination of the two - lettering is all still clear and easy to read. There are a couple tiny closed tears in the upper edge and some faint evidence of handling on both the front and rear covers. Upper corner of the front inside flap has been price clipped.
