About this Item
Blue cloth with gilt lettering and green leaf design. Mild uneven fading to boards. Text is clean and bright, appears unread. Price-clipped DJ shows slightly darkened spine and mild edgewear, tiny spot of soil to front upper corner. Wonderfully illustrated by Don Bolognese. "On the night before your birthday, if you get into bed left foot first and turn the pillow over before you go to sleep, anything might happen." This is what the mysterious redheaded boy in the black velvet suit says to Dulcie when she wakes up on the morning of her birthday. And he is right: the strangest things do happen when Dulcie and Alice and Dicky and George set out with the redheaded boy, whose name is Maurice, to try to find the Wishing Tree." (from the jacket).
