A excellent pair of historical fiction novels written by C. J. Sansom, the only standalone novels written by the author. The first UK edition of 'Dominion' and the first US edition of 'Winter in Madrid'.Each with the publisher's original, unclipped dust wrapper. Written by British author of historical fiction, Christopher John Sansom, who won a number of awards for his novels, including the Ellis Peters Historical Dagger. Sansom was best known for his Matthew Shardlake series, with 'Dominion' and 'Winter in Madrid' the only two novels which were not included. 'Winter in Madrid' (2008) is a thrilling spy novel, set in the time following the Spanish Civil War in 1940.'Dominion' (2012) is an alternate history novel, set in the early 1950s against the backdrop of a Britain that is acting as a satellite state of Nazi Germany. 'Dominion' is bound in the publisher's cloth and 'Winter in Madrid' in the original hardback boards, both with the publisher's original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, lovely, with minor shelf wear only. Dust wrapper for 'Winter' is fine, with light shelf wear only. Wrap for 'Dominion' is a little edge worn, with the odd mark and small closed tear.
