Add to basketBook Condition ? Very Good: An unread copy that remains in fantastic condition. Signs of shelf wear across the dust jacket, particularly across its spine, but excellent condition otherwise, cover artwork/text popping with colour. Faint marks across the black cloth binding, but red text across front panel/spine is mint. Dust marks/foxing across the text block, but edges remain in surprisingly good shape for the book's age. Pages throughout are tightly bound, clean and tidy.
A first edition, first printing, offering a highly collectible example of Upton Sinclair?s work in its original publication form. First printings of Sinclair?s novels are sought after by collectors because they represent the earliest, most authentic versions of his writing, and Sinclair?s significance in American literature and social reform makes early editions particularly desirable.
Wide Is the Gate is a novel by Upton Sinclair that continues his engagement with social and political themes, blending narrative drama with critique of power, class, and moral compromise. Sinclair?s storytelling is marked by a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to exposing injustice, making his work both historically important and compelling to readers interested in social reform literature. This first edition, first printing copy is especially attractive to collectors of early twentieth-century American fiction, progressive literature, and key works by one of the most influential writers of his era.
