This is a story of female violence, fear, and resourcefulness. It is a meditation on identity and memory. Lewis's writing is deft and haunting, and the story establishes a model for women's narrative. This copy has a stain on the front end paper and slight shelf wear on the dust jacket and top and bottom of the spine. Otherwise, a tight, clean, first edition, first printing.
