Item description from seller

Seventh edition. Thick octavo. 648pp. Illustrated from photographs. Green cloth gilt. Bookplate, and ownership signature (twice) of A. Mercer Daniel, a very good or better copy of this thick volume with a neat professional repair on the front hinge. Daniel, whose biography and image are in the text, was an important activist and librarian, and the first African-American member of the American Association of Law Libraries. In 1971, Howard University's law library was renamed the Allen Mercer Daniel Law Library. Further reading on Daniel reveals an engaged and accomplished activist and scholar.
