First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 309pp. Brown smooth-weave cloth, lettered in black at the spine and upper board. Backstrip ends a little bruised, the tip of one corner very gently bumped and with some browning to the half-title and to one blank concluding leaf. Faint ghost of almost entirely erased former owner pencilled markings to the tip of the front free endpaper. A very good copy in non-price-clipped dust wrapper, lightly tanned at the spine panel and a little dust soiled and rubbed, with a little chafing and a small area of loss to the head of the spine panel and several fractions more to the corner tips and to one or two other extremities. A lengthy diagonal score runs across the full length of the wrapper, and there is a small almost circular area of surface abrasion to the front panel where it would appear a sticker was carelessly removed. Eighteen stories, a follow-up to his celebrated 1916 collection 'Limehouse Nights' (this sequel was issued in the US under the title 'More Limehouse Nights'). Uncommon in the dust wrapper the condition of which is not nearly as woeful as it sounds. Seller Inventory # ARC93356
