Second state of first edition, with Kenpo coat-of-arms on the front cover and 5 additional pages of content, including two endorsement letters from 1953 and colour portrait of Daruma or Dharma on the first page. (2), 3, (44) + 109 pp., profusely ill. with photos, facsimiles of testimonial letters, oversize (4to) black decorated stiff card covers. A very tight, square, copy of this rare book from the collection of Bruce Tegner. This copy is internally Nearly Fine with no significant flaws. Externally the covers are faded along the spine, also faded spots to the card covers. Some dark staining to the outside edges of the text block, not affecting the pages inside. An extremely scarce and important kenpo karate book, a seminal work pre-dating Oyama's first book by five years. A very rare and fragile book. Scans available. Seller Inventory # 787473
