From the Author
In 1951-52 I was sent to Nigeria by the Colonial Office to serve in the administration of all three regions for a total period of two years. The book attempts to explain the main requirements for British rule during the critical years before independence. I believe independence was rushed through before the country was adequately prepared to cope with it.
