Melbourne, Wesleyan Book Depot, 1888. Octavo, xvi (last blank), 68 pages. Blind-stamped brown cloth lettered in gilt on the front cover, all edges speckled red; cloth lightly marked and bumped at the extremities; leading edge of two adjacent pairs of preliminary leaves unopened, with the bottom corner tip of the previous leaf torn away (probably when opened inexpertly); a near-fine copy. Provenance: 'Chief Justice Way', with his inkstamp on the front flyleaf and the rectos of the following two leaves. Sir Samuel James Way (1836-1916) was (among other positions) Chief Justice of South Australia from 1876, chancellor of the University of Adelaide from 1883, and 'lieutenant-governor of South Australia for life' from 1890; he held these posts until his death in 1916 ('Australian Dictionary of Biography').
