About this Item
British playwright Arnold Wesker's working-class triptych. Octavo, 225 pages. Very Good in a Very Good dust jacket. Top of spine bumped, some soiling to front end paper, some light damp staining to top of a few end pages. Dust jacket has minor wear and rubbing and a small damp stain on the rear flap. Corners of flaps clipped, but price remains intact. Arnold Wesker's first three plays "were a largely autobiographical trilogy, starting with a Jewish family, the Kahns, living in prewar Hackney. All three expressed the unforced socialism of his childhood, where the enemy was Fascism and the key to social progress lay in mass education." -- The Cambridge Guide to Theatre by Martin Banham.Wesker is sometimes grouped among the so-called Angry Young Men of postwar British literature.
