Item description from seller

Dust jacket complete, unclipped. Light brown cloth boards with bright gilt titling on spine. No ownership marks. Numerous illustrations, charts, tables. 246 pages clean and tight. WHETHER it is because of a heatwave or because of a period of extremely cold weather with blizzards and freezing fog, the weather is always the subject of the Englishman's conversation. It often appears to be unpredictable, changes occurring with a rapidity that often outwits even the professional meteorologist. Alfred Glenn, who has been operating his own meteorological station at his home near Ipswich for many years, believes that however freakish it might sometimes seem, the weather does conform to certain recurring patterns. Using records built up over a very long period both at his own station and at others spread across the region, he sets out the patterns to which the East Anglian weather sometimes conforms. Not only does he provide simple rules by which one can predict the possibility of weather changes but he has good advice for those considering establishing their own weather recording stations. Size: Sm 4to.
