Item description from seller

87pp. The Water Engine is a radio play-within-a-play about Charles Lang, a young factory worker who invents an engine powered by distilled water in 1930s Chicago, but faces threats from powerful business interests when he tries to patent it. Its companion piece, the short play Mr. Happiness, features a radio host with a "Miss Lonelyhearts" style, who provides advice to his listeners on their personal problems with an unctuous voice before the main play begins. Size: Octavo 5"x7".
