Condition is AS NEW in a hard cover. DJ is AS NEW. Synopsis: The book analyzes George Washington's generalship and the crucial, though often overlooked, role of state militias in the Revolutionary War, particularly in the middle states around New York City. Kwasny argues that Washington, despite his frequent criticisms of the militia, developed a strategy that effectively integrated them as partisans alongside the Continental Army. This combination of conventional 18th-century military doctrine and partisan warfare highlights a depth of strategic ability in Washington that is rarely recognized.
