Item description from seller

A fine new copy. A highly illustrated history of the Wars of the Roses based on the medieval art of Graham Turner. The so called “Wars of the Roses” is a popularist name given to the dynastic strife of the houses of York and Lancaster which in terms of conflict commenced between 1455, the first battle of St. Albans and 1487, the battle of Stoke. This period of political unrest was the result of fierce rivalry between cadet descendants of Edward III as they fought for possession of the English crown.
