VERY VERY RARE HARDCOVER - EASILY CONSIDERED TO BE THE ONE OF THE RAREST OF ANY OF DEAN KOONTZ FICTIONAL HARDCOVER BOOKS - THERE WAS NO SECOND PRINTING, NO BOOK CLUB EDITION AND NO PAPERBACK EDITION AND NO UK EDITION. ALMOST THE ENTIRE PRINT RUN WAS SOLD TO LIBRARIES (EVEN EX-LIBRARY COPIES CAN SELL FOR $100-$300) - EVEN STRIKE DEEP (WHICH SELLS FOR MORE) HAD A 2ND PRINTING. Book appears unread with no creased page corners, no foxing/age darkening to outer page edges which are still white (barest hint of dust soiling only), no foxing to pages or endpapers, nice tight spine, no hinge splits, no former owner's markings or other writing inside, no wear to board edges, corners, or spine tips, no bumped board corners, no scotch tape residue mark to outer boards, endpapers are clean and free from tape residue markings or erasures, no sunlight fading to outer board edges. Dust Jacket has short closed tear at top of spine otherwise no tears, chipping or creasing, hint of wear to spine tips, no wear to front flap crease (just a hint at flap crease corners), no spine fading, no spine darkening, almost no edge wear, no dust soiling to white rear panel, no soiling or staining, white rear panel is clean with no color rubbing or dust soiling - just a hint to spine (common defect with this DJ), no age yellowing to edges, no color rubbing. Overall a N-FINE book in FINE- condition dust jacket (not price clipped) of a rare Dean Koontz first printing hardcover book.
