BH6 - A tight, clean, sound copy with very minor overall shelf wear with the endflaps glued to the front and back fixed endpapers plus there are the usual library stamps and a label on the top outside paper edges, the front free endpaper, and the title page. The dust jacket shows very minor overall shelf wear with a library label on the back plus the front and back endflaps are glued to the fixed endpapers plus it is still in the original library mylar sleeve. Translated from the Czech by Paul Wilson. A novel set in Prague just before, during, and after the Velvet Revolution in 1989. The main character is a middle-aged television camerman who works ueasily within the boundaries set by the communist regime and who dreams of one day making a film that is a searing portrait of his times. After the fall of communism he finds that he is unprepared for this new world and ends up pursuing lucrative small jobs such as TV spots, commercials, and a port film.
