Add to basketSoftcover. Numbered, Limited Edn. 67/100. A resume of the unsolved Whitechapel Murders of 1888 involving Jack the Ripper, plus an investigation of a recent suspect. The script was commissioned as one of a radio series with the general title of 'The Other Victorians'. At the time of its commissioning - the summer of 1971 - the Duke of Clarence still figured on several lists of possible suspects, though by the time the script was broadcast in the following year, suspicions had abated and Clarence had been relegated to the ranks of those other figures. In writing the script the author had 3 main objects : firstly to tell the story of the murders through contemporary records; to establish Clarence's alibi, and finally to suggest the kind of person, who, he felt, was responsible for the murders. The script was broadcast on BBC Radio Four on June 1st 1972. Limited to 100 copies, this being number 67. 37pp. 8vo booklet. An As New copy of a rare Ripper item.
