About the Author

Vincent Virga has been called, "America's foremost picture editor." He is the coauthor of Eyes of the Nation and the author of Cartographia: Mapping Civilizations, produced in cooperation with the Library of Congress. Scotti McAuliff Cohn is a writer and freelance editor specializing in history and young-adult fiction. Her other books include It Happened in North Carolina and More than Petticoats: Remarkable North Carolina Women.
