1st edition, 1962. Original pictorial dustjacket sunned and age-worn. Blue cloth gilt VG. Pages a little age-browned, otherwise clean & tight. 2 inscriptions on flyleaf. Well illustrated with 71 photos and 19 line illustrations. 238 pages. One of the first serious works on the subject, by an author who worked at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
