Written & illustrated by the renowned Dutch painter/graphic artist Jan Le Witt. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1956, this hardcover small quarto (8.25" x 10.75") has colorfully decorated paper over boards with a design matched on the accompanying DJ. Condition is VG- (minus), marred only by rubbing to fore edge side of front board & all corners/both ends of spine. Else, very clean, sewn binding strong & straight, pages moderately tanned but unmarked save for old gift inscription to half-title page. The unclipped DJ is downgraded to Fair due to severe rubbing to that same fore edge side of front cover, with paper loss in places. Short, unclosed tears, rubbing, & small chips to all other extremities; looks nice protected in new clear mylar cover Free (removed for photos).
