Quarto. Pp. 48. Illustrated leaves, color illustrated saddle stapled covers. Cover presentable, but foxed with edge-wear and dampstain that shows on the inside of the front cover and the first leaf. Stories, poetry, humor and satire for University of Washington students with display ads for local businesses including Van de Kamp's Holland Dutch Bakers and the Cornish School. With a two-page photo essay by Vic Steinbrueck who was just entering the Architecture program, and "Movies in Morocco" by traveler Sidney Patzer. The UW Shell House is also featured in a handsome photographic study: Constructed in 1918 as a US Navy WWI seaplane hangar, the structure was later used as a shell house for the lauded University of Washington men's rowing team following the war until 1950 or so.The bright cover art by Barbra Heiser is a notable splash of art-deco design. Now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve with an acid free backing.
