Welcher was a renowned professor of Chemistry from 1932 to 1978, serving as a faculty before IUPUI was officially established in 1969. Dr. Welcher was a prolific author, teacher and world-wide conference speaker. Mr. Welcher was a member of several professional organizations, including the Indiana Academy of Science and the American Chemical Society. Included are dates of creation and discontinuance, composition, organizational changes, commanders' names, and numerous details on the geographical boundaries of divisions. The book's final section gives the orders of battle and detailed itineraries of all major units during all campaigns, major battles, and notable "engagements, expeditions, raids, and reconnaissances." A fundamental reference work.…
