An interesting item with a romantic background. In 1918 a junior librarian was given the job of disposing of a number of wrappers in upstate New York.She decided to keep those she liked and cut out the front panel and in some cases the spine and stuck them into a scrap book.Most were lesser known authors but a handful including this title were from established writers. Some years later the scrap book was acquired by a dealer from whom I purchased this one.It is only the front panel but this is a very rare title and I only know of one copy in wrappers, which is in Mcilvaine and belonged to Roger Jaep ,who sold it to David Lloyd .Its defective and missing half the spine but thats all there is .Sure this is only the front panel but its fine and the colours are fresh and vibrant.Rarity can sometimes be judged by whether there is a facsimile as Mark Terry has scanned many of the best collections and he does'nt have this one. You can hang on hoping a complete wrapper may turn up but I think its probably a lost cause. Seller Inventory # PGWUSFUM2
