British edition, early reprint (presumed second printing), undated however circa 1880. No jacket as issued. Large format. Profusely illustrated by the author. Book appears to have some first issue points, however is an early reprint. Green boards with decoration to front are only good with pushing/bumping to corners, a few small marks, rubbing to edges, the odd small scratch and a little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. The binding is tight. Previous owner's name in pencil to front blank page. Neat gift inscription and date in pen to half-title page. Pages bit tanned. Numerous old marks/scattered foxing to pages. Front/back end-papers have creasing/small tears/little loss. Creasing to a few pages. Top corner of a couple of pages have small loss/creases. No other faults.
